Transcription Project
This past fall, I started selecting art songs by underperformed female composers and transcribing them for horn and piano. On April 2nd, 2023, I performed six of those songs during my degree recital. In the next few months, I plan to make some edits, add a few more pieces to the collection, collaborate with some colleagues to record the work, and publish the music!
I'm a Music Major, Not an English Major: College Writing for Hornists
In February of 2023, my article "I'm a Music Major Not an English Major" appeared in the student column of the International Horn Society's Journal The Horn Call. In it, I draw on my own experiences as both a writer and a musician to give students tips on how to write better in college.
The Peoria International Choir
In the spring of 2022, I conducted research on the Peoria International Choir, a community choral ensemble in Peoria, IL. On April 18th, 2023, I was able to present some of my findings at the poster session of Southeast Missouri State University's Student Research Conference.
